2013 - SKAN End of Year Report

This year has proven to be another successful year for SKAN, increasing sales and market share in many of our key market sectors.

Admittedly, there are sectors which are down for us, yes... But these lows have been more than compensated for, by the growth seen in emerging technology driven markets such as green energy, touch-control, display and motorsport.

So is SKAN recession proof?

Well that's probably a claim too far...

However our strength comes simply from our diversity and experience!

For decades, we have continued to service a myriad of complex/detailed materials/markets. We have a strong, robust and unique knowledge within our team here, allowing us to flex and move into fast emerging markets where they arise.

Even through the recent difficult economic times, our dedicated and motivated staff here at SKAN have remained totally unchanged. A long-standing and unswerving commitment from our chairman!

Experienced, lean and agile and more keen than ever, to drive our customer service levels still higher.

 

At this point we would like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal customers and supply partners for all of their support, especially over these last few years. There have been many changes forced by the faltering global economy. Some changes were necessary however some have seen the industrial landscape in which we all operate, change quite considerably, and especially here in the UK.

Through all of this, and with your help, SKAN has managed to grow its business inspite of the Recession, and for that we are truly grateful and proud of our achievements.

 

Communication is a key facet to this and, as you can see, our website is now back up and running. We really hope to exploit the new fully editable web platform, to keep you even better informed of new materials, developments and processes that might just give you that all important competitive "edge" through our NEWS pages, site content.

 

Next year looks set for us to build still further, working on a gently rising platform of a slow economic upturn that we're experiencing right now.

We can assure you that today, SKAN is really well placed to support this growth and to celebrate our 60 years in business in 2014 with you!
